Leonard W. McKinstry

	Leonard W. McKinstry, age 77, of Pinckneyville, died at his home on Monday, July 15, 2002 at 3:07 a.m.
	Leonard was born in Rice on May 15, 1925, the son of Leonard W. and Louisa (Deitz) McKinstry.  He married Louise Stockton in Tamaroa on September 9, 1950 and she survives.
	During his lifetime he was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, a member of the Mitchell Lodge #85 A.F. & A.M. in Pinckneyville and a 32nd Degree member of the Consistory of Belleville.  He worked for Everett Rice Ford in Pinckneyvillle for 16 years before working for Ziegler Coal Company in Sparta, was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and served on the District 212 School Board.
	Survivors include his wife:  Louise; two sons:  Randy G. and Steven  R. and his wife, Debbie, all of Pinckneyville; two daughters:  Donna Schwarz and her husband, Mark, of DuQuoin and Debra L. Halfacre and her husband, Michael, of Pinckneyville; one brother:  George E. McKinstry and his wife, Wanda, of Pinckneyville; eight grandchildren:  Michelle Hill (Paul), Rhonda McKinstry, Eric & Kyle Halfacre, David, Lyndsey and Jon McKinstry and Skyler Schwarz and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister:  Helen Bigham and two brothers:  Floyd and Bert.
	Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 18 at 10 a.m. in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Rob Mathis officiating.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
	Friends called at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, on Wednesday from 6 until 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 until 9 a.m. then at the church from 9:30 a.m. until services.  Masonic services were held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
	Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children or the American Cancer Society.
